Mood Swings Salon Hosting Earth Day Cut-A-Thon to Raise Funds for Western Resource Advocates
All Appointments Serviced on April 11 will be donated for Earth Month

TEMPE, AZ, May 20, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mood Swings Salon in Tempe will be hosting its annual Cut-A-Thon on April 11th to raise awareness for Earth Day. All of the proceeds from haircuts, facials, massages and pedicures serviced that day will go to the local charity Western Resource Advocates (WRA).

Being an Aveda salon, Mood Swings has made it a tradition to give back to grassroots organizations that work to protect biodiversity and address environmental issues around the world. This is Mood Swings fifth Cut-A-Thon. Last year Mood Swings raised $4,500 for Surfrider Foundation. Since Mood Swings started holding these events, it has raised over $11,000 for various charities.

WRA was chosen this year as Aveda's charity to support. WRA works with other grass roots organizations to protect the land, air and water in the West. This year's theme for the Earth Day event is "1 in 7 Lacks Access to Clean Water," which will address this issue that seriously impacts many places with limited and low-quality water supplies.

"A key component in changing how our Earth is treated is bringing more attention to the importance of Earth Day," said Misty Arbo, the salon manager. "People need to realize that the things that we take for granted today might be scarce resources in the future, so we need to work together to prevent that from happening."

There will be 120 haircut appointments, 16 30-minute facial appointments, four 30-minute massage appointments and four express pedicure appointments for a discounted 30 dollars, which will go towards generating funds for the Cut-A-Thon.
